Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 April 2026
1. Agreement
By creating a Prooof account or installing the Prooof Chrome extension, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. The service
Prooof helps UK consumers find purchase receipts in their email, track warranties, and draft refund/repair claim letters that reference the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and related law. Prooof is an information tool - not legal advice. Drafted letters are templates you should review before sending.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom. The Consumer Rights Act references in our claim templates apply to UK consumers; using them for purchases in other jurisdictions is at your own risk.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
5. Acceptable use
- Do not use Prooof to file fraudulent or knowingly false claims.
- Do not connect a mailbox you do not own.
- Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload our service.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed through Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refunds are at our discretion and handled on a case-by-case basis under UK consumer law.
7. Intellectual property
Prooof, including the extension, dashboard, claim templates, and brand, is © Prooof. You retain ownership of your data; we receive a limited licence to process it solely to deliver the service.
8. Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that every receipt will be detected, that a claim drafted by Prooof will succeed, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period (or £50 if you are on a free plan).
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
